Have you tried chocolate hummus? I saw some in the grocery store the other day and just had to make it for myself. And it takes less than 5 minutes to make!
Serves: approx. ¾ cup
Food Processor or Blender
Small Microwavable Bowl
1 can of garbanzo beans (strained and rinsed 3 times)
3½ – 4 Tbsp maple syrup
½ tsp vanilla extract
¼ tsp salt
¼ cup of American Heritage Historic Chocolate Drink Mix (melted)
2 Tbsp water (optional)
In strainer, rise canned garbanzo beans
Melt chocolate drink mix in small microwavable bowl for 1 minute, stir until smooth and creamy
In a blender or in a food processor, combine all the ingredients except water, using just 3½ Tbsp of maple syrup.
Puree until the mixture is smooth, about 60 seconds. Add water 1 Tbsp at a time to create the desired consistency. Taste the chocolate hummus and add remaining maple syrup if desire.
It’s creamy and rich in flavor, surprising good. Serve with fresh veggies or fruit. It’s a perfect appetizer for your Mother’s Day get togethers or graduations party
