An easy summertime treat
Try this quick and easy one pan chocolate cake. I’ve substituted baking cocoa with American Heritage Chocolate Drink, creating a light chocolate sponge cake, perfect for dessert on a hot summer night.
Here’s the recipe:
1 cup sugar
½ cup flour
½ tsp salt
1/3 cup of American Heritage Chocolate Drink
1 tsp baking soda
Blend powder mixtures together with a spoon into an ungreased 8X8 pan, then add the rest of the ingredients.
1 TBSP vinegar
1/3 cup salad oil
1 ½ tsp vanilla
1 cup cold water
Stir, scraping the sides and bottom of the pan until well mixed and batter is smooth. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes, serve from pan.
Top with frosting, confectionary sugar, or cool whip and your favorite summertime berries. Serve with
a demitasse cup of American Heritage Historic Chocolate Drink.
